Surrounded by coffee from a young age, Tolentino learned the art of coffee cultivation and cattle raising from his father, Mariano de Jesús Ramírez, after graduating from sixth grade. At just twenty-four, Tolentino stepped onto his path of independence, cultivating the 1.40 hectares of coffee land gifted by his father. With persistence and dedication, he gradually expanded his estate, which now spans 7.7 hectares across two farms: El Portillo Azacualpa and El Portillo Azacualpa 2.

Embracing organic farming, Tolentino has planted his farms with Catimor and Parainema varieties, treating each plant with the care it deserves. His hard work also extends beyond his own family, providing employment to around 20 people in his community during the harvest season. This is not merely coffee cultivation; it's an endeavor that uplifts an entire community.
Tolentino's life weaves into the story of this coffee, from the house he built at twenty-six with his coffee earnings, to his marriage with Lucila Rodríguez, and the birth of their twin boys. This year, his diligence saw the purchase of his first car, a tool to transport his precious coffee beans from the farm. His dreams continue to flourish as he plans to expand his farm and upgrade his family home.
Taste the fruits of Tolentino's labor, commitment, and dreams in our El Portillo Azacualpa coffee. Enjoy the harmony of flavors that pays homage to his journey, and join us in looking forward to the bright future he is creating for his family and community through the power of coffee.
